NEWS: Cottingham High Smoothie Enterprise Launch
After 2 months in the planning, Cottingham High opened their Smoothie bar with instant success. On Friday 9th March, the pupils managed to sell an impressive 100 smoothies in 30 minutes during lunch. Some serious going.
Before the mad rush began, representatives from local education, business and sport including Hull College and Hull City FC (tigers trust) had a first look at the new Xing bar. They received samples of the newly designed flavours and spoke to the pupils involved in the running of the bar.
Vicky Mackinnon business studies teacher commented;
‘Doing this will help our students in their working life. It is giving them real work experience and valuable employability skills. They also have the chance to work with
pupils from different year groups. This is something they would not normally do’.
We wish Cottingham High the best of luck, but judging by their impressive start they won’t need it.
None of this would have been possible without the good folk at Archbishop Sentamu Academy, Hull. They worked really hard with us to develop the model – running the initial pilot smoothie bar.
