School Smoothie bars in South Wales

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve secured funding from the Fairwood Trust in South Wales to extend the student smoothie bar project west of the Severn. We’re looking for schools and colleges in the area to take advantage of the funding to set up their own student run smoothie business.

The Fairwood Trust is an independent grant making charity established in 2008. Its prime purpose is to support individuals in South Wales with talent, potential and ambition to develop and grow and in turn provide wider benefits to their communities.

Charles Middleton, Fairwood Trust Director, has been dedicated to improving opportunities for young people in South Wales for over 35 years and is a key supporter of Xing Education. Charles showed a keen interest in our project, not only promoting emterprise and employment skills to local young people but also acting as a beacon in schools and colleges for both healthy eating and entrepreneurial flair.

Xing Ed have initial match funding for 5 schools or colleges in South Wales to allow the most entrepreneurial teachers to get ahead of the pack and create a hub of students run businesses across the region. We both intend for this just to be the beginning of a number of profit-making student-driven enterprises across South Wales.
