Profits from Norbury Manor smoothie bar used to support other social enterprises across world

Students Hannah, Alia and Lorraine share their experiences with us.

“We have really enjoyed running the NMBEC Smoothie Bar this past year and we are looking forward to receiving our share of the £900 profits we have made.

  • In addition to our profits we have also taken our social responsibility as entrepreneurs seriously and we have made donations of a further £900 to other entrepreneurs like us through the micro-finance website www.kiva.org * This sustainable method of lending is proving very successful and we have already had many of our loans repaid and the money will be added to and reinvested by the next Smoothie Bar team.

We have learned so much about running a business and about ourselves as individuals and team members. It has been hard work but we have enjoyed it so much.

Oh-So-Smoothie has been a great success and we have learned a lot of business skills that will make us more employable in the future. We are all qualified first aiders now and we will be taking a Workplace Hazard Awareness course.”
