Xing at the Birmingham Education Show 2014

We were excited to be part of the 3 day education show this year at the NEC in Birmingham. It was massive in size of show and also attendance with the halls jam packed with all things related to schools and education. Guest celebrity speakers were Professor Brian Cox and Dara O’Brien.

We were loving our funky stand design especially with the illuminated smoothie bar lighting up the show.

True to Xing’s ethos and values we encouraged some of the students from schools currently running their own in house smoothie bar to help assist us on the day to give them experience outside the classroom to interact and speak to people attending the show from all round the world.

John Whitgift Academy, Grimsby and Norbury Manor, London were the schools which were involved in the day.

The young people created a fantastic buzz around our stand. They made up smoothie samples for delegates to try and spoke about their personal experiences of running their own successful smoothie bar businesses to the teachers and educationalists attending the show.

Liam Farrow , 14 student at John Whitgift – talks of his experience being part of the day.

‘I was honoured to be chosen to represent Phil Benson’s company Xing at the Education Show at the NEC. My responsibilities whilst I was there was to make smoothie testers for teachers, governors of schools and companies. I got asked quite a lot of questions about what the business is and how it worked so that it fully boosted my confidence in speaking to important people such as the visitors to the event, at the end of the day it was a truly speechless experience.’

Check out our video which shows what we got up to.
